The 1st Indonesian Halal Business and Food Expo 2010 (IHBF Expo) was held in our Assembly Hall on 23-25 July 2010. The first ever summit to reach a market of 230 millions of Muslim of Indonesia, as well as to outreach towards the best and yet to be discovered halal product producers and services of Indonesia, was organized by Indonesia's own Food, Drug and Cosmetics Study Institute at the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) and Performax, with the support of the Trade Ministry, the Culture and Tourism Ministry, the
Agriculture Ministry, the Industry Ministry, and the Drug and Food Control Agency (BPOM) and the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Exhibitors came from various producers and service providers, whether engaged in food, beverage, banking, distribution, hypermarket, and cosmetics industries.
With the aim of engaging and protecting Muslim customers, the Expo was not only to exhibit and promote halal products, but also to play a role as the center of information and education on halal products in Indonesia and be part of a community effort to make
product development and marketing organization more effective, while maximizing the role of halal certification.
